The League of Friends at Hartismere Hospital has a rich history spanning over 60 years, originally established to enhance the amenities for patients during their lengthy stays. With a focus on providing comfort, the Friends offered essential items such as specialist beds and furnishings to improve the hospital environment. Their cherished Trolley Service allowed patients to purchase necessities while enjoying friendly conversations. Even after the hospital's closure, the League remained dedicated to advocating for its rehabilitation, significantly benefiting the local community of over 60,000 residents.

Hartismere Hospital, once upon a time, was a vital healthcare facility in Eye, Suffolk. The building now stands with only a few clinics and offers an abundant space which could be developed offering further services to our community. Whilst these few clinics offer a great service more could be done.

It would be ideal to offer Dental Health Services, possibly an A&E or Minor Injuries Unit.

According to the Office for National Statistics, Eye is home to over 2,000 people (Census 2011), many of whom relied on these services at Hartismere Hospital. The lack of local healthcare options forces residents to travel long distances for basic medical needs which can be particularly challenging for our elderly population or those without means of transport. We urge the relevant authorities to reconsider this decision and reopen outpatient clinics and dental services at Hartismere Hospital. By doing so, we can ensure that our community continues to have access to comprehensive healthcare close to home. Please sign this petition if you believe in accessible healthcare for all residents of Eye, Suffolk.

SNEE ICB launched a new campaign aimed at reducing unused prescriptions.

SNEE ICB  launched a new campaign, aimed at reducing the amount of unused prescription medicine that is thrown away.

Across the UK unused medicine costs the NHS around £300 million every single year, with an estimated £110 million worth of medicine returned to pharmacies and a further £90 million worth of unused prescription medicines being stored in homes.

We can all take action to reduce the waste and save money which can then be re-invested back into our NHS for patient care. It is also better for the environment.
