Go On Safari 2024

Eye will be full to bursting with chimpanzees, leopards, hippopotami and meercats, as the annual art trail returns to the town.

Safari is the latest theme for the event which is now in its sixth year.

The vibrant art trail is curated by the Blossom Charity, which supports local people in achieving their life goals.

This year, for the first time ever, the trail will also be coming to the nearby town of Harleston, with two trails running simultaneously for people in our county and those nearer the Norfolk border to enjoy.

Go On Safari

Go On Safari, 2024

After five years of bringing the sculpture art trail to Eye we are excited to expand in this sixth year to bring the 'Go On Safari' trail to both Eye and Harleston. Throughout the summer there will be 43 safari animals in place across the two towns. There will be both large and small ones shown in our 'Sculptures' section and 'Minis' section above. The ones you can view in Harleston have an (H) after their name.

Whether you like beach scenes, flowers and nature, fairy stories, bright colours, animals or music, there is something for everyone - our artists and makers have been wonderfully creative!

Please share your photo’s of your favourite animals on social media with #eyesculpturetrail. A massive thank you to everyone who made it happen!

Ipswich Town Owl

BBC TV News

A charity has praised its local community after the restoration of a popular statue that had been destroyed.

The Blossom Charity  in Eye, Suffolk, was left "devastated" last month when the Ipswich Town owl that had been on display in the town's market place was vandalised

Clare Jackson, events manager at the charity, said the team immediately "leapt into action" to replace the owl and it is now back in its original spot.

However, she said they were left shocked when the person responsible for the damage came forward.

"The day when it happened, everyone was upset," she said.

"Later that day, someone incredibly walked into the shop and said, 'It was me, I'm really sorry.'

"They offered to pay straight away for the repair and are also going to do some volunteer work with the charity."

She added: "Never in our wildest dreams did we think that would actually happen.

"We didn't think someone would come forward so openly and be so genuinely apologetic and want to make it right."
