The Bank Arts Centre Eye together with Eastern Angles bring Streets Aloud ! to Eye Suffolk

Streets Aloud is a community arts project centred around the Suffolk town of Eye. Together with Sound Designer Jack Baxter they have created an atmospheric audio experience made up of poems, short stories and lyrics written by people who live, work or go to school in Eye. They hope that this project will document histories and connect people to the town. The recording comes together in a walking tour of Eye which runs alongside an exhibition of artwork by local artists inspired by the town.

Streets Aloud

Eastern Angles Theatre Company are launching a project called "Streets Aloud!" which aims to create an atmospheric 30-minute audio experience inspired by the town of Eye - made up of poems, lyrics and short stories written by people who live, work, or attend school in Eye. Stories submitted will be read by actors and turned into an audio recording that will be free to access either at home or whilst out exploring the town. Documenting personal histories for all to experience.

We are looking for members of the community to contribute poems or short stories to be included in this project. Is this something that either yourself or anyone you know may be interested in contributing to?

We have just launched the call for submissions and I have attached the PDF brief which outlines the project in more detail. Karen Goddard is the wonderful Creative Producer of this project
